Seed-Collection Coordinator - Volunteer

Job Type

Part Time

Remote

About the Role

The duties listed may seem a bit daunting, but we'll help step you through everything.

One way to start seed harvesting is by getting a few friends together and taking a walk. Pictures can be taken of plants along the path. Species of plants can be identified from the pictures. There are numerous resources online which will teach you how and when to harvest the seeds from the plants which were identified. If not on public lands which allow seed harvesting, gain permission from the owner of the property. HOAs are a great resource for seed collection efforts, since many HOAs have multiple acres of low-maintenance plants which can be great for environmental restoration efforts.

A seed-collection coordinator coordinates seed-collection efforts of two through nine people (That's a bit of a tongue twister). When a group exceeds nine people (ten including the seed-collection coordinator), the group will be split into two separate groups which can still coordinate projects together. This allows for more people to gain experience in a management position.

More details can be found in our company policies and procedures.
